The 15th Talung Rinpoche was born in Thinphu, Bhutan in june,1975. Rinpoche was recognised by H.H 16th Karmapa and H.H Sakya Trizin Rinpoches as reincarnation of the 15th Talung Rinpoche. In 1978 rinpoche was enthroned in Rumtek monastery in Sikkim by H.H 16th karmapa in prensence of there four eminence. From 1978 until 1986 Talung rinpoche studied under H.H 16th Karmapa, where he received bodhisatthava or compassionate vows and some special teaching along with empowerment. love and devotion to talung kagyu monastery and in order to enhance the teaching of buddha in general and teaching of Talung Kagyu lineage in particular, rinpoche went under many years of studies ( 1987-2003). During this period he studiet under different vajra master from four different schools of Tibetan buddhisim. Among them rinpoche strictly followed the rare teachings, received empowerment and transmission from Venerable Khenpo Karma Tseten Rinpoche from karma kagyu tradition and Venerable Khenchen Pema Tshewang and H.H Anjom Drukpa Rinpoche from Nyigma Tradition. |

| Upon graduating from the studies of buddhist art, medicine and philosophy,The 15th Talung Rinpoche was offered the title of "Khenpo" or Buddhist proffersor. Talung Rinpoche also received the ancient Talung kagyu lineage`s tradition, secret empowerment, oral tranmission and teaching from H.E late Talung Tsheptrul rinpoche. Apart from the Buddhist philosophy, rinpoche also had great opprutunity to learn the ancient Tibetan traditional medicine under his medicine master Venerable lama Tshewang Norbu, who is former student of 14th Talung rinpoche and highly respected Tibetan traditionel medicine doctor in our time in Tibet. Rinpoche is also very active on the issue of global climate.
"I feel myself a very fortunate human being having met many great vajra master, heard the great teachings of buddha, and being able to serve the land of snow, Tibet in this critical time. Now I am left with only one wish, a wish to apply the advance Buddhist teaching in daily life and to serve the teaching of Buddha in general, and teaching of Talung Kagyu in particular". |
